HUMANOIDS FROM THE DEEP!!!
Here is the poster I did for the Super Trash movie contest I posted about earlier. I was way too busy to do this, but once I heard about it, I had to do a fake poster of my favorite trashy movie "Humanoids from the Deep"! Weeeeeeee!

TOMORROW COMICS: '76, EVIL DEAD, B.P.R.D.: 1946
'76 #1 is the first in a series of eight comics, each containing two ongoing stories by different creators. The two stories focus on exploitive-styled characters in the vein of 70's cinema. Very interesting, I'm glad to know we aren't the only folks working on an exploitation homage comic.
I've been foaming at the mouth for this next comic since I first heard about it. It's the original Evil Dead movie re-imagined with breath-taking art by John Bolton. With this re-imagining there will be a few new scenes and some changes to the storyline. I already noticed in the preview that Cheryl is no longer Ash's sister in this version, and was a little saddened to find the girls don't look like the actresses that originally portrayed them, but now I know what I am in for and am ready for a fresh take on one of my favorite movies ever.
And last, but not least, a new B.P.R.D series that explains why the B.P.R.D. was formed and spends some time with Hellboy's surrogate father Prof. Bruttenholm

SUPER TRASH
Floating World Comics have put together an Exploitation film/art fest in Portland in February. There will also be a gallery featuring artists recreations of exploitation movie posters, the best of which will be collected in a artbook from Fantagraphics.
The call for entries ends January 15, 2008
I am definitely gonna try for this... anyone want to join me?

Here is first page for the current one-shot comic I'm working on. Check out Thomas P. Reidy's blog post for the colored version of this page. Thomas will be providing half of the artwork on the book or "the flashback sequence" and coloring the entire thing.
