Horrorfest?
A nationwide horror film festival lands this weekend bringing with it eight "too disturbing for the mainstream" movies.
Penny Dreadful
The Gravedancers
The Hamiltons
Reincarnation
Dark Ride
The Abandoned
Wicked Little Things
Snoop Dogg's Hood of Horror
It's pretty neat, and I'm thinking I might try to catch a few of these.
Does anyone else plan on going?

Wizard World TX '06
Marlena and I went to Wizard World TX last weekend, and we had an absolute blast.
Viper Comics, our publishers, got a much bigger table than they have in the past and there was finally enough room for all of the creators to fit in the booth at once (and boy do they have a lot of creators), so that was really neat.
I manned the table almost all day on Saturday, trying to sell the various books they have out, and was struck by what a versatile list of books they've gathered in a very short amount of time. No matter who came by, I could always point them in the direction of a book they might enjoy, that's quite the accomplishment.
The biggest highlight though, was seeing the other creators who came in from out of town for the con (two of which crashed at our place and were tortured with forced viewings of bad movies). Everyone is really cool and we always have a lot of fun behind the table and afterwards. Viper is a really great group to work with, they are big enough to be very professional, but small enough to feel like family.
It was good times all around.

Brothers and Sisters go out and VOTE!

General Elections are being held RIGHT NOW!!!!

I know the validity of voting has been called into question lately, but the only way to make sure your vote does not count, is to not vote at all.
Good luck everybody!!!

Dia de los Muertos
Today is the Day of the Dead. A Mexican holiday which celebrates the lives of friends and family who are no longer with us. I know it sounds kind of morbid, but it's really not. It's a celebration of life... a time to reflect on how important it is to make the most of the time we have, as well as remember the people who made us who we are.
It is also my wife and I's anniversary.
We plan to celebrate our lives together by getting a hotel room in Dallas and spending the day exploring the city we live right outside of, but don't really know all that well. I've also planned a fancy dinner at a fancy restaurant with fancy waiters and other fancy stuff. I even had to make a reservation (I feel so grown up)!
When I think about how high the odds were of the two of us actually meeting each other on this vastly huge planet, it simply blows my mind.
But we did, and I can't imagine spending the rest of my life with anyone else.
I love my wife. I love my life.
What more is there?
