Electric Grrl

I posted this image on Deviant Art and got a "daily deviation", which means they post it on the front page for a day. Since they get hundreds of new images a day, I was quite honored.
Very cool.

HAPPY FRIDAY THE 13TH!!!
Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and my birthday all happen in the span of about three months. They are usually good times that I really enjoy and I'm sad to see them go. Everything seemed to work out really well for me this year as far as holiday parties go. Everyone was in high spirits, no one was terribly sick and I got to see several members of my family who live out of state and don't always get to come down for the Holidays. It was really nice. I simply had a great time at every event... Especially my birthday.
Also, I made out like a bandit as far as presents go. :)
That is hardly the best part about the holidays, but it is a nice bonus.
My parents bought me an Xbox for my birthday. Marlena and I have a DVD player in every room but our studio, (where we spend the largest amount of our time awake in our house) and I thought that with an Xbox we could watch movies and I could play online because that's the room our modem is in. Smart huh? Right?
I also wanted an ORIGINAL Xbox. Now that the Xbox 360 has come out, I figured they must have worked all the bugs out of the original system by now, there will be a slew of games available and hopefully I can pick them up "on the cheap" since it's an older system. Brilliant, right?
I forgot that in order to even play DVD's on the Xbox you need a "DVD playback kit" which basically activates a feature already built-in to your system by making you pay $30. (If you look real close, in small print under "DVD playback kit" are the words "Microsoft-says-bend-over-and-take-it kit") In conclusion, the DVD playback kit (which is really just a remote) costs $30 and the cheapo DVD player we bought on sale last year and still works like a charm cost $40.
No wonder Bill Gates is a Gazillionaire.
Jerk.
In any case, I'm taking that cash sucking Xbox monster's DVD playing virginity tonight with the first "Friday the 13th" movie to celebrate today's date. I've seen the movie a million times, so I'll have it on in the background as I play with all the great things I got this year from my loving wife, my caring family and all of my fantastic friends.
I am a lucky, lucky man.
