Everything is finally coming together!
Marlena stayed up until the wee hours of the night yesterday giving my site an actual design and adding a gallery. The "about me" page and "links" pages links don't work at the moment, but are coming soon. Please forgive our sluggish revamp of the site as a whole (the Christmas season is keeping us plenty busy) I promise we are almost done. :)
Feel free to check out my gallery. The newest items will be posted here on the front page and then added to the gallery later.

K-K-K-KONG!
Went to see King Kong yesterday with my wife and some friends.
It... was... F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C!!!!
This is Peter Jacksons finest movie EVER! Coming from someone who loves all of his other movies (yes, even Bad Taste) that's quite a compliment.
The script, the plot, the characters, the direction... it was all celluloid perfection.
P-E-R-F-E-C-T-I-O-N.
Just go see it.
Also keep your eyes out for a fairly blatant nod from Peter Jackson to all the fans he had prior to the Lord of the Rings shooting him into super stardom.

SIN CITY BAR!!!!
If you happen to be in Japan and enjoy the works of Frank Miller, be sure to stop by the Sin City bar. Order a Marv for me and then laugh out loud, because I will never ever see the place in person.

Narnia!!!
Ah Narnia!
Marlena and I went to see Narnia on the day that it opened and were treated to almost 3 hours of fantasy goodness. It was a neat movie that we both really enjoyed, but it just didn't sweep me away like I was hoping it would.
I have never read a C. S. Lewis book so all I had going into the movie was traces of the Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe cartoon I watched as a child... and I couldn't remember much. I could recall the wardrobe lead to another world, the Ice Queen was scary and... well... that's about it.
After seeing the movie, I still think those are the story's strongest points. The idea of an area of a big, spooky house that holds a doorway to another world is very childlike and appealing to me and the evil of the Ice Queen is very real, her motivations are understandable and she was portrayed beautifully by Tilda Swinton who I had only seen previously in the gender-bending movie Orlando. She is a great actress.
It was directed by Andrew Adamson, the same guy who brought us the hilarious fantasy movies Shrek and Shrek 2. The story was well written, the cinematography was fantastic , the production design was amazing and the effects were top notch. I just couldn't get involved with several of the main characters. The only people who had any substance to me were Edmund, Mr. Tumnus, the Ice Queen, the Beavers, the Fox and Ginarrbrik. Everyone else seemed pretty one dimensional.
The movie was pretty dark too. The kids are pretty much constantly under fire and then they take up arms and being killing people as well. Yikes! Interesting, but not really fun.
Again, I really enjoyed the movie, and maybe the problems I had with it will be addressed in the planned sequels. It just didn't leave me wanting more.

Time, time, time... See what's become of me.
Marlena and I have been putting a lot of things off to complete the constantly behind schedule Dead@17: Protectorate on time. And now that it is finished we became overwhelmed with the need to create new things (right after the immediate need to do absolutely nothing subsided).
In any case, revamping this never-updated website into a constantly-updated website was one of the things on our list. And to do it with style!
Unfortunately, this section (my section) will most likely be the last portion of the website to be created. Christmas and new freelance work is already putting the hurt on me.
But I will do my best to make this site a priority.

My first blog!!!
Hello and welcome to my new site!
This section of Blue Sky Comics will focus solely on my art and any odd ideas I may have that are not associated with any current project.
The look of this site is only temporary.
Please check back often for gobs of gooey content. :)
