RENT-A-COMIC
I often daydream about different ways to get comics into more people's hands.
One of my ideas was to open a Blockbuster type of store that rented out graphic novels so that people wouldn't have to buy blindly and could experiment with unfamiliar or even less flashy titles.
Lo and behold someone is already doing it... on the web even.
Bookswim is a Netflix-style website that rents books through the mail instead of DVD's. It's pretty interesting and they even carry some graphic novels.
I'm curious how well it works.

OMG I had that same idea! Often thinking "I wish I could try out comics before I buy them. There should be a Netflix for comics!"

I agree. A Netflix-style graphic novel site would be cool, because you'd have a larger stash to choose from.

David: Exactly, Libraries are great, but they are not a national chain and inventory varies from location to location. I would prefer a place that rented Graphic Novels only, but at least they are on the list here.

I Hate to be the Other Person to say this, "But I had the Same Idea Myself a few Years Back"... I thought Graphic Novels and complete Mini or Maxi Series would've been good too... My concern at the time of course, was "Wear and Tear" on the Books and Stolen Items... And considerin' that I was gonna work with My Stash at the time, I dumped it altogether... Oh well, I hope it works out for them... Thanks for Sharin' Ben...
